Andrew J. Ditlevsen
Practice Area: Civil Litigation, Real Estate Law, and Construction LawAndrew focuses his practice on real estate, construction, banking and business law, both litigation and transactional, which includes advising and representing creditors and financial institutions in collection matters and cases filed under Chapter 7, 11 and 13 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.
Andrew is an experienced trial attorney, successfully litigating cases in both federal and state courts.
He has assisted clients in various transactional matters, including:
- purchase and sale of real property
- creation of easements and restrictive covenants
- purchase and sale of businesses
- preparation of promissory notes and security devices
- land use matters.
He is also a licensed real estate broker.
Andrew received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law after graduating magna cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in law school, Andrew worked as a full-time judicial extern for the Honorable Jeremy Fogel of the United States District Court, Northern District of California.
Andrew serves as a commissioner on the City of San Jose's Appeals Hearing Board, working to resolve appeals of various municipal violations. He is an appointee of the executive committee of the Honorable William A. Ingram Inn of Court--a local organization of insolvency professionals and bankruptcy judges--and serves on the Santa Clara County Bar Association's Civil Practice and Finance Committees.
Andrew lives in Willow Glen with his wife and two dogs, and enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking and weight training.
